Design Community Ranks IC Manage Envision #1 Product at 2015 DAC

CAMPBELL, Calif., November 17, 2015 — IC Manage, Inc., a leader in global design management and IP reuse, today announced that its IC Manage Envision big data analytics product was selected as “the #1 best tool” by conference attendees in the DeepChip Design Automation Conference (DAC) Report, where each year hundreds of users review the products exhibited at the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry’s premier conference.

IC Manage Envision was selected because it allows project leaders, engineering managers, and integration leads to predict and manage their projects – keeping them on target. Envision applies big data techniques for rapid access and analysis of the mountains of data that have historically been underutilized or ignored. The product offers:

  • Real-time design progress analytics
  • SoC/chip IP progress heat map
  • Tool drilldown analytics for resource optimization
  • Tapeout prediction and resource adjustments after completing one earlier project

According to one designer, “IC Manage Envision is something needed in chip design. Its individual tool analytics for resource optimization is good. The license use info would be particularly informative, as those are big decisions that we have to make year to year, and we get spikes during tapeout for EDA licenses.”

The DeepChip DAC Report is an annual survey that started in the 1990s, where hundreds of users review the products exhibited at the electronic design automation (EDA) industry’s premier conference.

“By far, the number one tool at DAC this year was IC Manage Envision. The engineers were impressed,” said John Cooley, DeepChip’s moderator. “Envision takes a bird’s eye view of your entire company, both past and present, and using real-time progress analytics you can hone in on the bottlenecks — man-hours, EDA licenses or stalled engineers — and zoom in on exactly what you need to see. It’s not just tweaking a design; it’s a new tool that’s tweaking the whole design process. And that got this year’s DAC attendees’ attention.”

“Ranking at the top of the DeepChip DAC report list is great recognition, and we would like to thank all the engineers who wrote in on our behalf,” said Dean Drako, president and CEO, IC Manage. “IC Manage is committed to working with our Envision customers to accelerate their entire design process by applying the most advanced techniques in big data to their design data and log files.”
